BANGALORE: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy never fails to surprise. Now, he has chosen to use the common man's mode of transport to travel from Bangalore to Belgaum to attend the three-day Vishwa Kannada Sammelana. Mr. Kumaraswamy will travel by bus over two days traversing through hundreds of villages and small towns in an attempt to build a festive tempo for the meet that will begin on February 23. According to sources, the special bus will not take the regular route. Instead, it will go through smaller country roads covering 60 to 70 taluks. It is going to be an interesting roadshow as the Chief Minister will interact with local people during the journey. The roadshow is expected to begin on February 21 from Bangalore. The Chief Minister who will complete one year in office on February 3 is learnt to have decided against holding any anniversary bashes. Instead, he will hold a video-conference with members of zilla, taluk and gram panchayats in all the 176 taluks, from the Abdul Nazir Saab Rural Development Institute in Mysore.
