NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation has joined the search for Kota Shinozaki, the 21-year-old Japanese college student who went missing from Agra last September 5. Kota's photograph along with his particulars has been included in the list of missing persons on the CBI website. The investigating agency has assigned a Deputy Superintendent of Police the task of collecting information on his whereabouts. The agency has appealed to the public to share any valuable information they might have. Kota, who was on a three-week tour to India, landed at Delhi airport on September 3 morning and exchanged $ 100 for Indian currency at the airport before he went missing. Later the Delhi police found that he went to New Delhi railway station the same morning. There a tout for a travel agent met Kota and arranged a tour for him from Delhi to Jaipur to Agra by car and then to Varanasi, Bodh Gaya and Kolkata and back to Delhi by train. Kota went to Jaipur and stayed there for two nights. On September 5, he along with the driver went to Agra and checked in at Chanakya Hotel. The next day he went missing from his hotel room along with his belongings.
