CUTTACK: At least 15 new motorcycles were burnt and another 20 were severely damaged when a lorry carrying them caught fire "accidentally" in the city on Thursday. The vehicle carrier was on its way from Gurugaon in Haryana to a city-based two-wheeler showroom. Local police sources said the lorry carrying about 60 bikes of Hero Honda caught fire just 200 metres away from JMG Automobiles showroom at Bidyadharpur. Luckily, some onlookers informed the nearby fire brigade immediately, which in turn rushed a fire tender that doused the fire within minutes, said police officer S N Behera.
