NEW DELHI: A trial court here on Thursday postponed from February 8 to 24 the deposition by Bhawna, daughter of the former Rajya Sabha member D.P. Yadav, in the Nitish Katara murder case. Additional Sessions Judge Ravinder Kaur informed the prosecution and defence that she would be on leave of absence on February 8. The testimony of the investigating officer, Anil Samania of the Uttar Pradesh police, would also be recorded on February 24. The court had summoned Ms. Bhawna on January 18. However that day, counsel said she was unwell and the court asked her to depose on February 8. On Thursday Ms. Kaur recorded the testimony of an officer of the HDFC Bank, Kasturba Gandhi Marg branch here, on whether Nitish Katara and his girlfriend Bharti Yadav daughter of Mr. Yadav had a joint account or not. The prosecution wants to examine Ms. Bhawna for verifying whether her sister Ms. Bhartireceived calls from Neelam Katara, on her (Ms. Bhawna) mobile.
