Water level

MADURAI: The water level in the Periyar dam stood at 114.70 feet (136 feet) with an inflow of 271 cusecs and a discharge of 400 cusecs. The level in the Vaigai dam was 38.12 feet (71 feet) with an inflow of 258 cusecs and a discharge of 41 cusecs. The combined Periyar credit stood at 2,131 mcft.

Campus interview

A campus interview for the Wipro Academy of Software Excellence will be held at Thiagarajar College at February 3 and 4.

Those clearing the interview will be taken as `Student - Computer Applications.'

The candidates can study further as they could apply for M.S. in Software Engineering in Birla Institute of Technology, Pilani. About 1,500 final year students of different streams from about 43 colleges are expected to participate in the interview.

No water supply

On account of maintenance work being carried out by the Corporation at water pipe near Kochadai, which brings water from Vaigai dam, there will be no water supply on Monday and Tuesday (February 5 and 6). A press release said that water supply would be stopped for the residents of north and south parts of the city. The connection will be restored at the earliest.

Practical classes

In order to help postgraduate diploma students of Nutrition and Dietetics and postgraduate diploma students of Bio Statistics courses at Directorate of Distance Education, Madurai Kamaraj University, their seminar and practical classes will be conducted at Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre.

Candidates enrolled in Chennai will have their seminar and practical classes at Madras Medical Mission at Mugapair. The first round of classes will commence on February 3, said a MKU press release. Further classes will be conducted on subsequent weekends.
