BANGALORE: The Bharatiya Janata Party, which is making efforts to convince some of its disgruntled leaders to accept their nominations to boards and corporations, is, however, learnt to have decided against making major changes in the list of nominations to these bodies. Some legislators, including Araga Jnanendra, who has been nominated as chairman of the Land Army Corporation, Shankarlinge Gowda (MSIL), Shakuntala Shetty (Cashew Development Board) and P.C. Mohan (Mysore Paper Mills) had expressed dissatisfaction over the posts allocated to them. While their main contention is that they should have been made Ministers as they have been serving the party for a long time, they were also not happy with the kind of boards and corporations offered to them. But the party is learnt to have taken a stand that there should not be any major changes in the list of nominations. Some of the senior leaders are said to be of the view that if these disgruntled leaders do not accept the nominations, other senior party workers should be honoured with these posts.
Office-bearers
Meanwhile, the state unit of the BJP announced its new list of office-bearers on Wednesday. The list hints that the tussle is still on between the rival camps of Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa and party national general secretary Ananth Kumar. Most of the supporters of Ananth Kumar have been dropped from the office-bearers' list. The dropped leaders include Arvind Limbavali, Vamancharya, P.C. Mohan, Basanagouda Patil Yatnal and Pralhad Joshi. Besides, some of the Yediyurappa camp's leaders such as Suresh Kumar and Shobha Karandlaje have made the list of office bearers despite the efforts by the Ananth Kumar camp to block their entry. The BJP circles are terming this as an indication that Mr. Yediyurappa has an upper hand in the office-bearers' list. Mr. Ananth Kumar is learnt to have expressed his displeasure over the composition of the team to party central leader L.K. Advani. The following is the list of office-bearers of the party: Ramesh Jigajinagi, Viajayshankar and Siddesh, (MPs), MLAVisveshwara Hegde Kageri and former MLA Chandrakant Bellad and Mumtaz Ali Khan (vice-presidents). Shoba Karandlaje and Sashil Namoshi (MLCs), former MLA Suresh Kumar and Santosh (organisation) (general secretaries). MLC D.S. Veeraiah, MLA C.T. Ravi, S. Kailash, Raghunath Rao Malakapure and Lalji Mendon (secretaries). Lehar Singh Siroya (treasurer) Suresh KumarYuva (spokesperson)
