Rs. 81.74 lakh for classrooms

ERODE: Government has granted Rs 81.74 lakh to Arignar Anna Government Higher Secondary school, Vellakoil, for construction of 22 additional classrooms, six toilets and water supply system, said Highways and Ports Minister Vellakoil M.P. Saminathan on Thursday while distributing free cycles to the students of the school.

The Minister said the State Government is showing special care on education sector. Arrangements have made to fill 52,000 teacher vacancies and has granted huge fund for infrastructure developments in schools.

Full attention

He wanted the teachers to devote their full attention on development of the students, especially from the rural areas. He urged the parents to arrange good environment for their wards to study.

The Minister distributed 342 cycles to the students. S.K. Karvendhen MP, former Minister Durai Ramasamy, Chief Educational Officer P. Kuppusamy and others spoke.
