Letters to the Editor
It was indeed heartening to see an article on the other side of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (Feb. 2), which has always been the media's punching bag. I have recently joined DRDO at the entry level and I completely agree with the opinion expressed in the article. It is important for motivated young people to get attracted to such organisations. They will not only get to work on the latest technologies early in their careers but will also be able to appreciate the wider problems facing India's growth as a major R&D and manufacturing hub. I hope the article will certainly help this cause.
Abhijit S. Kulkarni,
DRDO certainly deserves to be praised for its achievement, given that it functions under so many embargoes and constraints. The need of the hour is to raise national spending on R&D in order to sustain a good defence technology base.
Abhishek Jain,
