CHITTOOR: Human Rights Commission secretary Chellappa has asked officials concerned to settle human rights violation cases at the field level itself. Reviewing human rights violation cases in the district with officers here on Friday, he noticed that 16 cases were pending for settlement of which the Collector and SP had given replies for 14 cases. Of the other two cases, one was pending with SV University and the other with RASS. As they had not given any reply, Mr. Challappa instructed them approach the commission office at Hyderabad. He said people should approach the commission office when their petitions were not solved the officers concerned. The district administration would have to take action to enlighten the people in expressing their problems fearlessly to the authority concerned and also to safeguard their rights. Collector S.S. Rawat explained the action taken in preventing child marriages.
