Kadapa stands third in rural job scheme

First annual re-dedication function of job scheme held at Collectorate

KADAPA: Kadapa district stands third in the State in implementation of Andhra Pradesh Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (APREGS), Zilla Parishad Chairperson D. Jyothi Reddy said on Friday.

Addressing the first annual re-dedication function on APREGS at the Collectorate, she said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi launched the scheme at Bandapalle village in Anantapur on February 2 last year.

Job cards

Joint Collector Kanthilal Dande said job cards were issued to 3,50,487 labourers in 50 mandals in the district and works worth Rs. 41.26 crores taken up. Bio-diesel plantations were raised in 1,000 acres through Roshni Biotech.
