APREGS: Collector lauds Chittoor district officials

CHITTOOR: The first anniversary of the implementation of rural employment guarantee scheme was held here on Friday in which MPDOs, project officers and field assistants participated.

Addressing the meeting, district Collector S.S. Rawat complimented the officers for their dedication, which made Chittoor occupy first place in 13 districts in the State in the implementation of the programme.

Rs. 60 crores spent

A sum of Rs. 60 crores had been spent so far against the allotted amount of Rs. 100 crores towards the scheme in the district ensuring benefit to 2,98,275 persons. He wanted officers to spend the balance amount soon in order to get the second instalment of Rs. 100 crores from the Government.
