Rajasthan police team meets Home Secretary

BHUBANESWAR: The Rajasthan police on Friday sought information on property and service particulars of DGP(Home guards) B. B. Mohanti from the State Government to build up its case to challenge bail plea of the senior IPS officer. The bail petition of Mr. Mohanti is scheduled to come up for further hearing on February 5. The Orissa High Court had earlier granted interim bail to the DGP.

A team led by additional SP Rajesh Singh met Home Secretary Tarun Kanti Mishra and requested for information on details of leave taken by Mr. Mohanti during November last and his property list. Mr. Mishra told reporters, "As far as I know the DGP had not taken any leave during November. If Rajasthan police want specific information, there is no problem in providing the detail. We will verify all claims." Responding to a query, Virendra Jhakar of Rajasthan police said, "we have information that the Mr. Mohanti had visited Jaipur four times in connection to release of his son on parole.''

. The DGP had claimed that he had not visited Jaipur in connection with the case.
