CUTTACK: In the wake last week's lower court judgment acquitting the accused policemen in Kanpur lady constable's murder case for improper enquiry by the State Crime Branch police, the deceased Manorama Basantray's family members have reiterated their demand for CBI enquiry into the matter afresh. "If the State Government doesn't hand over the case to CBI within 15 days, we would be forced to move the Orissa High Court seeking a direction in this regard," says Manorama's elder sister Mamatarani. Even as the crime branch police are contemplating to appeal against the lower court verdict, family members of the deceased have threatened to move the HC separately, seeking a CBI probe into the matter afresh.
