BANGALORE: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned Rs. 244.31 crore loan assistance to the State Government for implementing 443 check dams/pick up (MIS0) projects. The loan amount would also be utilised for construction of 150 veterinary clinics, 400 anganwadi buildings, 32 hostels, 12 primary health centres, 362 pre-university colleges, 132 Raitha Samparka Kendras, 86 rural roads, 17 rural bridge projects and 786 higher secondary schools, according to a NABARD release. The release said the implementation of these projects would facilitate socio-economic infrastructure development of about 3,700 villages, besides creating 4,000 recurring jobs per year and 100 lakh mandays of non-recurring employment in the State. With this, the assistance sanctioned to the State Government under RIDF-XII in 2006-07 had gone up to Rs. 436.33 crore, the release said. "The cumulative sanction under RIDF to the State Government stood at Rs. 3,732.36 crore covering 17,470 projects."
