CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday exhorted the people to follow the ideals of dignity of labour and equality as propounded by Guru Ravi Dass. Addressing a congregation on the occasion of the 630th Parkash Utsav of the great saint here, Mr. Hooda described him as a great social reformer who had played a vital role in uplift of poor sections of society. He said the Government had launched several schemes for the benefit of people belonging to Scheduled Castes and backward classes. A survey had been conducted to identify the families living below the poverty line and yellow cards would be provided to the genuine people. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan also urged the people to follow the path propagated by Guru Ravi Dass for establishing an egalitarian society. Addressing separate gatherings in Panchkula and HMT Pinjore, Mr. Chander Mohan said Guru Ravi Dass was an embodiment of simplicity who always advocated the importance of striving hard in life. He also emphasised brotherhood and equality and these values were very relevant even today.
