Training

The continuing education cell of the PSG Polytechnic College will conduct short-term training programmes on "high-end PLC programming and interfacing" and "PLC programming" (from February 5) and "CNC programming and maintenance" from February 19. Camp

The NSS unit of the Coimbatore Institute of Engineering and Information Technology and Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Oncology and Research Centre will organise a cancer medical camp on February 3 at the Panchayat Elementary School, Viraliyur. Free buses have been arranged from Thondamuthur to Viraliyur at 9 a.m.

Programme

The Centre for Women's Studies of Avinashilingam University will conduct a four-day training programme for Self-Help Group women of Asokapuram Panchayat from February 6 to 9. The programmes will be held on fast food preparation, baking and artificial jewellery making.

Rally

The students of Laurel Matriculation Higher Secondary School will organise an awareness rally on February 5.

No power

There will be no power supply in the following areas from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on February 5 due to shutdown of Periyanaikenpalayam sub-station: Periyanaikenpalayam, Naikenpalayam, Kovanur, Gudalur Koundampalayam, Jothipuram, Achakka Kudiyirupu, Chinna mathampalayam, No.4 Veerapandy, Athiapalayam, Keeranatham, Idigarai, Sengalipalayam, Chinna Mettupalayam, Poochiyur, Chinna Thadagam, Nanjundapuram, No: 24 Veerapandy, Mangarai, Annaikatti and Narasimhanaikenpalayam.
