KOCHI: The 450th year celebrations of the Kochi diocese will begin here on February 4. Bishop of Kochi diocese John Thattunkal will lead the holy mass at Santacruz Basilica in Fort Kochi. Union Minister for Defence A.K. Antony will inaugurate a public meeting at 4 p.m. He will release the jubilee logo. Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan will inaugurate Fatima Hospital under the diocese on the occasion. Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy will deliver the keynote address. The diocese will construct 65 houses at Neendakara, as part of the jubilee celebrations. Adalats, seminars, NRI meet and cultural competitions will be held during the jubilee year.
