Water level

MADURAI: The water level in the Periyar dam stood at 114.60 feet (136 feet) with an inflow of 204 cusecs and a discharge of 400 cusecs. The level in the Vaigai dam 38.32 feet (71 feet) with an inflow of 221 cusecs and a discharge of 41 cusecs. The combined Periyar credit stood at 2,128 mcft.

Court boycott

Lawyers practising in the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court abstained from court proceedings on Friday in view of the boycott call given by Bar Council of Tamil Nadu to protest against the reported move to impose service tax on lawyers.

Yoga therapy
