Coimbatore: In view of the works that are being undertaken by the railways for replacing the existing points and crossings on the railway tracks at Coimbatore North Station, train traffic will be suspended for four hours at the Coimbatore North Station on Monday (January 5) between 9.15 a.m. to 1.15 p.m. A release from the Southern Railway - Palakkad Division said that train number 6607 from Chennai Egmore to Mangalore would be run via Irugur and Podanur skipping Peelamedu, Coimbatore North and Coimbatore Junction. On reaching Podanur from Irugur, it would proceed in its normal route from Mangalore. Passengers bound for Peelamedu, Coimbatore North and Coimbatore Junction would be provided convenient connection at Podanur by train 3352 (Alleppey - Dhanbad/Tata Express) by stopping at Coimbatore, Coimbatore North and Peelamedu on February 5. Train number 3352/3351 Alleppey - Dhanbad/Tata - Alleppey Express would be delayed between Podanur and Irugur. The arrangements would be in force only on February 5, 2007, tto facilitate work, the press release added.
