GUNTUR : The findings of modern research in chemistry must reach the common man for academic activity to be fruitful, Acharya Nagarjuna University Vice-Chancellor V. Balamohandas, said. Addressing delegates at a National seminar on `Modern Trends in Chemistry' he said research should not get limited to the four walls of a laboratory, but should be useful to the society. The two-day seminar was inaugurated at the Hindu College, Guntur, with eminent scholars like S. Brahmaji Rao, D. Satyanarayana, K. Sriramam and N. Kurmaiah speaking on some relevant topics to benefit the chemistry students. The seminar organised in association with admirers and students of late Vattem Panduranga Rao, a renowned chemistry professor, on his 25th death anniversary drew experts from far and wide. Retired AU professor D. Satyanarayana presided while Hindu College president M. Radhakrishna Murthy was also present.
