Sureshwaren makes an impressive debut

Sydney: Parthiva Sureshwaren made an impressive debut by gaining India a creditable 10th spot in qualifying in the Australian Grand Prix of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport here on Saturday.

``There's a lot of pressure with the one lap qualifying, that's something I am not used to. I am more familiar with an hour long qualifying session, so I am still learning to get the best out of that situation,'' Sureshwaran said after the qualifying sessions at the Eastern Creek circuit.

The 26-year old Chennai lad has the least experience in an A1GP car among all drivers competing this weekend.

A1 Team Seatholder Yohann Setna said, ``the team is happy with Parthiva's progress, he's been improving session by session and is doing the job we asked him to do.'' — PTI
