BIDAR: Friends of Vijay Kumar Nagamarapalli, the slain son of MLA and former minister Gurupadappa Nagamarapalli, recall him as an ambitious industrialist, who stayed away from the bustle of politics. An engineer, Vijay Kumar owned Kailash Motors that distributed motorcycles. "We have lost a young and energetic businessman. While his whole family was into politics, he was focused on business, Gurunath Jantikar, Vijay Kumar's friend and president of the Kalyan Souharda Cooperative Bank said on Friday. "I have known Vijay Kumar for over 30 years. He was known for his simplicity and helpfulness," Congress MLC and family friend Quazi Arshad Ali said. He was always ready to help the poor. Leaders of the district such as Agriculture Minister and district in-charge Bandeppa Kashempur, former minister Bheemanna Khandre, Congress leader Ishwar Khandre, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Basavaraj Patil Ashtur, MLC Basavaraj Patil Humnabad, and others have expressed condolences. Gurupadappa Nagamarapalli has five sons and two daughters. Vijay Kumar leaves behind his wife Mangala and sons Kailash and Akash.
