CHENNAI: Leaders and activists of various political parties, including the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, paid homage at the samadhi of former Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai on his 38th death anniversary on Saturday. Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, along with Finance Minister K. Anbazhagan and other Cabinet colleagues, came in a silent march from Chepauk to the Anna Square and placed a wreath on the samadhi. Union Ministers, Legislators and functionaries belonging to the DMK took part in the silent procession. AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa, accompanied by election wing secretary O.Panneerselvam, headquarters secretaries, legislators and office-bearers of different wings of the party, paid homage after placing a wreath on the samadhi. Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary Vaiko and his party functionaries paid homage. Bharatiya Janata Party National secretary S.Thirunavukkarasar, along with party activists, offered floral tributes. MDMK dissident leader Gingee N.Ramachandran and his supporters also paid homage. Dravidar Kazhagam president K.Veeramani, MGR Kazhagam founder R.M.Veerappan, New Justice Party leader A.C. Shanmugam, Jananyaga Munnetra Kazhagam leader S. Jagathratchagan and Tamil Maanila Muslim league president S. Sheik Dawood were among those who paid homage.
