Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan PS triumphs

Hyderabad: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Public School defeated JHP School by 132 runs in the final of the Raju's Champions trophy inter-school cricket tournament here on Saturday.

The scores: BVB PS 227 for four (Y. Harish 56, C. Prajeet Reddy 61, Parikshit 41 n.o., Sailesh three for 52) bt JHP School 95 (Prathush three for 11, Venkat Vivek five for six).

Southern region wins

Southern region comprising V. Bhaskar, C. Shankar, M.N. Vijay Kumar and E.C. Miranda won the title in the men's team championship of the carom tournament in the inter-region sports tournaments organised by the Indian Airlines Sports Club here on Friday. Western region comprising Satish Kotkar, Dilip Chalke, Sanjay Phulare and Sudhakar Simthre was runner-up.

Shooting team

A 22-member squad has been selected by the Rifle Association of Andhra Pradesh to take part in the 33rd National Games to be held in Guwahati later this month. The RAAP thanked the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) for providing support to conduct an 18-day coaching camp for all shooters at the SAAP's shooting range in Gachibowli.
