VISAKHAPATNAM: J. Deepan Chakkravarthy was in a winning position but failed to press home the advantage and lost to Koneru Humpy in the second game of the MAYTAS Vizag Challenger Trophy match between the two GMs here on Saturday. Humpy is now 2-0 up in the eight-match contest. In a Queen's Gambit declined Ragozin Defence game Deepan (white) improved his position from the 16th move and exchanged pieces with Humpy. Then he secured a small but lasting advantage. He made use of Humpy's isolated pawn on D5 and kept the pressure to be in a winning position. However, Deepan did not watch the clock and the flag fell at the 66th move when he was in a clear winning position. He had two pawns, a rook and the knight while Humpy had one pawn, one rook and the knight at this stage. Special Correspondent
