HASSAN: Members of the gram, taluk and zilla panchayats assembled at the taluk panchayat office here on Saturday for the live video-conference with Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy from Abdul Nazir Sab Panchayat Raj Training Institute in Mysore were disappointed as none were able to get through to him on any of the three telephone numbers provided. This was after the interaction programme, on the Government's completion of one year in power, started almost two hours behind schedule.
Arrangements
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the zilla panchayat F.R. Jamaadar had appointed nodule officers for the conference at the offices of all eights taluks in the district. Special shamianas were erected and giant screens set up to allow all the members to view Mr. Kumaraswamy and speak to him over the telephone provided. But none were able to get through to the Chief Minister as the lines got crowded. In all, 3,200 gram panchayat members, 100 taluk panchayat members and 30 zilla panchayat members participated in the programme. At the Hassan taluk panchayat office, the interaction programme was organised at two places.
