Symposium on Ciliate Biology

NEW DELHI: The Ciliate Biology Research Laboratory of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College in collaboration with the ciliate biology research group of Delhi University is organising a two-day International Symposium on Ciliate Biology here from this coming Tuesday.

The symposium will provide a platform for interaction among scientists working in different areas of ciliate research and life sciences students and faculty of Delhi University and other universities of the country.

NEW DELHI: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in collaboration with Australia India Council (AIC), Australian High Commission, is organising a two-day conference on "Cultural Diversity, Governance and Policy: India-Australia" at India Habitat Centre here from Monday.

Indian Council of Cultural Relations president Karan Singh will deliver the inaugural address.

Decision to extend dharna

NEW DELHI: The Delhi University and College Karamchari Union organised a protest dharna near the office of the Vice-Chancellor here on Friday to press for promotion of karamcharis.

Speaking on the occasion, Delhi University Teachers' Association president Amar Dev Sharma called upon the karamcharis to intensify their protest till the impasse on the issue was resolved. The union has decided to extend its dharna up to February 9.

Press Association thanks Government

NEW DELHI: The Press Association on Saturday congratulated its former president George Verghese on being nominated to the Prasar Bharati Board by the Union Government.

Besides recalling Mr. Verghese's contribution in reviving its activities and stature, the Association has thanked the Government for recognising his contribution.
