Sheila releases Shailaja Chandra's book

New Delhi: ``It Crossed My Mind'' -- the book by Delhi's first woman Chief Secretary Shailaja Chandra which was released on Saturday, gives a peek into her life in the national Capital, especially her days in the administration.

A collection of 70 articles spread over four sections, the book was released by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit who praised the former Chief Secretary for not wasting time during her retirement days and writing these ``sensitive'' articles.

From fuming about life in Delhi, the book goes on to describe the shenangians of bureaucracy and questions impractical policies.

The book also has her views on Mumbai, her native place.

The articles include Mumbai Wants to be Delhi?, Time Vegetarians Demand Equality!, Heartless Heart-throbs, Legitimising Commercial Sex? Who Decides What is Wrong? and The Ban that Went Up in Smoke.

Ms. Chandra said her book was based on things that happen in daily life. PTI
