ALAPPUZHA: The budget of Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam for 2007-08, approved by its general body meeting at Cherthala on Saturday, has given priority to the development of the education sector. The budget expects an income of Rs. 47.48 crore and expenses of Rs. 47.47 crore. A sum of Rs. 34.5 crore has been earmarked for the education sector. Of this, Rs. 10 crore is for construction of buildings for colleges. A sum of Rs. 10 crore will be spent on constructing buildings and buying equipment for schools. A sum of Rs. 12.5 crore has been earmarked for the working of colleges. The budget has earmarked Rs. 1.5 crore for poverty eradication schemes and Rs. 1 crore for micro credit.
