TIRUCHI : A two-day yoga programme was conducted by the Isha Yoga Centre, Coimbatore, for the HIV-affected people. The session, which concluded on Saturday at St. Joseph's College, Tiruchi, was attended by nearly 80 HIV affected persons in the district. "These people are undergoing mental stress in their daily life, as most of them are alienated from the society. It is important to relieve them of the pressure. Sustained yoga practices and meditation can help them have a healthy body and mind," said the yoga trainer, Swami Badra Bahu. Various asanas, including surya namaskaram and dhyanam were part of the session. They were prescribed healthy food habits. "They should know what to eat to stay healthy. We detailed them on the importance of taking protein rich foods," he said. Isha Yoga Centre also conducted a similar programme in Namakkal recently.
