Gangaram stars for Arasaradi CC

Madurai: Gangaram Singh's half-century helped Arasaradi CC register a 43-run victory over Kapil Devils CC in the Madurai District Cricket Association's first division zone `A' league at the Madura College ground here on Sunday.

The scores: First division:

Zone `A':

Arasaradi CC 162 in 39.3 overs (Gangaram Singh 50, N.C. Babu four for 28) bt Kapil Devils CC 119 in 34.3 overs.

Zone B:

Spark Colts CC 163 in 42 overs bt Eleven Stars CC 162 in 25.5 overs (Sunder four for 21, R. Karthick three for 15 (hat trick).

Second division:

Blooming Elevens CC 169 for nine in 28 overs (Dayalan 37) bt Stalwarts CC 106 in 21.3 overs (Gunasekar four for 20).

Third division:

Madura College HSS CC 143 for nine in 26 overs (Senthil 35, Suresh four for 25) lost to Thirunagar CC 144 for two in 20.5 overs (Suresh Kannan 57 not out, Jeyamurthy 56).

Easy for Alagar Memorial

Alagar Memorial FC registered a 2-0 win against John Paul FC in the Dindigul District Football Association `B' division league at the NMM HSS ground, Dindigul, on Sunday.

Baskar scored the first goal in the 56th minute and Sanjay netted the second in the 68th.

Other result:

KPS FC 1 (Ranjith Kumar) drew with Pattumani memorial FC 1 (Manikandan).

Karthick shines

PSNA College of Engineering carved out a four-wicket victory over Majestic Cricket Club, thanks to a fine all-round performance by R. Karthick (five for 26, 65 runs), in the Dindigul District Cricket Association first division league at Dindigul on Sunday.

The scores:

First division: Majestic CC 100 in 24 overs (P. Rajamohan 36, R. Karthick five for 26) lost to PSNACET 101 for six in 19.3 overs (R. Karthick 65).

Second division: Vaigai CC 141 for eight in 21 overs (C. Pragatheesh 50, G. Parthiban 35) bt National CC 131 for seven in 21 overs (S. Ganesh 44, S. Karthick four for 30).

Third division: Mansur CC 226 for nine in 25 overs (Alagar 71, T. Mohan four for 51) bt Orange Shirts CC 87 in 23.3 overs (R. Krishna Mohan 38, Vijay four for 20).

RVS College posts win

RVS College of Engineering beat Gandhigram Rural University by 52 runs in the RVS Trophy Dindigul District Colleges Cricket league at R.V.S. ground.

The scores: RVS College of Engg. 160 in 24.3 overs (A. Mathalaimuthu 47) bt Gandhigram Rural University 108 in 17.2 overs.

Sri Krishna Polytechnic College, Batlagundu 50 in 9.1 overs (S. Manikandan four for 15) lost to Rama Praba Arts and Science College 51 for no loss in 3.3 overs.
