BIDAR: The Congress will raise the issue of the murder of Vijay Kumar Nagamarapalli, son of Gurupadappa Nagamarapalli, MLA, in the Legislative Assembly on Monday. Vijay Kumar was killed on Friday. "We will attack the Government on the issue," said former Chief Minister and leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly N. Dharam Singh here on Saturday. "We are not happy with the Government's decision to refer it to the Corps of Detectives (CoD). We will demand for a higher-level probe. We have already issued a notice that we will raise the issue during Zero Hour." The Congress would also demand the suspension of Superintendent of Police Roopa Divakar, he said. "Transferring the officer is not enough. A transfer is not a punishment. It is just a relocation," he added. Mr. Singh alleged that Agriculture Minister Bandeppa Kashempur, who was also Minister in charge of the district, was protecting corrupt officials. He also demanded the transfer of Deputy Commissioner Munish Moudgil, saying he had failed to control the law and order situation in the district. He said Vijay Kumar's murder was a "calculated conspiracy". "We are concerned that a brutal murder can take place in daylight in front of the police." he said.
