TIRUPATI: In a bid to curb the menace of displaying metal hoardings on the roads in a manner dangerous to the lives and safety of pedestrians and vehicle users, Tirupati Municipal Commissioner on Sunday convened a meeting with local leaders of the political parties, NGOs and other social organisations. Commissioner T. Sakala Reddy said haphazard display of the metal hoardings all over, besides being dangerous to the lives of the passersby, also blocked the view of the four and two-wheelers. The invitees agreed with the views expressed by the officials and the town police top brass and promised to cooperate with the authorities concerned in avoiding the situation.
