JNU entrance examination

NEW DELHI: Jawaharlal Nehru University will hold an entrance examination for admission to various full-time programmes of study at 71 centres across the country and at two overseas centres in Colombo and Kathmandu on May 15 to 18.

Application forms and prospectus are available at the counter in the administrative block of the University. The last date for submission of application forms is March 16. Details regarding programmes of study, eligibility and other requirements are available on www.jnu.ac.in.

Foundation of two projects laid

NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party MP V. K. Malhotra on Sunday laid the foundation stones of two projects of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi -- a municipal primary school at Sudarshan Park in Moti Nagar and an Ayurvedic centre at Madhav Park in Rajouri Garden.

A total of Rs.1.67 crore would be spent on construction of the school building. The three-storey building comprising 20 classrooms, a multi-purpose hall and toilet blocks in each floor will be completed within 16 months. The Ayurvedic centre at Madhav Park will be named after eminent social worker Bhau Rao Devras.

Another branch of MCD library opened

NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has opened another branch of its Hardayal Municipal Public Library in the Capital. Leader of Opposition in the MCD Subhash Arya inaugurated the library's 28th branch at Swami Shardhanand Community Hall at Keshav Marg in Rajouri Garden on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Arya said a new floor would be added to the building for opening a polyclinic that would be named after Guru Gobind Singh.

Man sentenced to life imprisonment

NEW DELHI: A city court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for killing his friend over a petty dispute more than three years ago.
