Fishermen allege attack

NAGAPATTINAM: Fishermen of Vedaranyam and Kodiakarai in Nagapattinam district alleged on Saturday that Sri Lankan Navy attacked them off Kodiakarai and took away their catch.

A group of fishermen told the Fisheries Department that they ventured into the sea from Kodiakarai on February 1. The Sri Lankan Navy chased their boats and fired at them 12 km off Kodiakarai.
