Four TASMAC staff held

CHENNAI : Police arrested four employees of a Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation's retail outlet on charges of adulteration of Indian Made Foreign Liquor here on Sunday. The arrested — Saravanan (25), Gangamuthu (30), Balakrishnan (31) and Muthiah — were remanded to judicial custody.

Based on some complaints about adulteration, the police constituted a team.

Following a tip-off, a special party raided an outlet on Singanna Chetty Street in Triplicane police district at 3 a.m. on Sunday. The police seized 38 adulterated liquor bottles and other materials from the spot.

The names of the arrested were given as Saravanan (25), Gangamuthu (30), Balakrishnan (31) and Muthiah . Further investigation is on, a press note.
