Politicising issues When the pole-mounted meters for electricity reading made easier and has been accepted by the denizens of the city by and large why objection from a few? ( The Hindu : January 28). It is strange that such a demand is being supported by political parties. They see nothing wrong when a few hooligans smashed pole-mounted meters and destroyed the boxes. The argument that pole-mounted meters can be tampered with easily is ridiculous. When in the city the autowallahs do not want digital meters and even innocent passengers are attacked, can the law enforcing authorities be passive? Let not politicians support such unlawful methods. Vimal Kumar, Ashoknagar Woes of Niloufer Hospital Niloufer Hospital is always in the news. Much of the miseries there like child lifting, swapping and even deaths of children which is on the increase is due to want of vigilance and security. The hospital needs more qualified staff in sufficient number, medicines, equipments, even CCTV as in Government Hospitals elsewhere in ICU wards. Less about the environs of the hospital facing thoroughfares on both sides with the maternity wing and cancer hospital side-by-side. Vijaya Kumar, AC Guards Relocate transformer On Srinagar Colony main road, in Kesavanagar colony, the transformer, which was located therein since the last 35 years, was shifted from the footpath to the corner of the entrance of the colony. There is only one entry to this colony. The present location of the transformer is hindrance for smooth flow of traffic and might lead to accidents. The APCPDCL authorities are requested to relocate the transformer at the old place for safety of the public. S.V.Seshagiri Rao, Kesava Nagar APSRTC clarifies This has reference to the letter published in The Hindu dated 29.01.2007 under the caption "Bus stop." Through the news item it was requested for providing bus stop at Gandhi Gyan Mandir, Koti, which was removed to ease congestion. In this connection it is to inform that the bus stop was shifted on following the direction of Traffic Enforcing Authorities. It is not feasible to restore the same.
