HYDERABAD: Burglars struck at three houses in Nadergul in Vanasthalipuram early on Sunday when the inmates were away and decamped with gold and silver jewellery and cash, all worth over Rs. 5 lakhs. The offenders first entered the house of a businessman K. Satti Reddy, breaking open the main door lock and fled with Rs. 3.9 lakhs. Then they struck at his brother Prabhakar Reddy's house in the same locality and stole Rs. 80,000 and gold ornaments weighing two tolas.
Inmates away
The two families had gone to Komaravelli jatara near Siddipet in Medak district on Saturday when their houses were burgled. Satti Reddy had set aside the money to buy land, the police said. Later, the same gang broke into the house of one B. Kamalamma in the neighbourhood and escaped with Rs. 10,000 and silver jewellery weighing 30 tolas. The woman had gone to her son's house in the same locality on Saturday night and returned on Sunday to find her house burgled. The police said it looked like the job of a gang of more than two persons, who had had scouted the houses. Efforts are on to identity the offenders from clues collected at the three houses.
