Cancer awareness campaign launched

HYDERABAD: A cancer awareness campaign was launched by a team of oncologists at Yashoda Cancer Institute in Secunderabad on Sunday.

Over 10,000 leaflets and information brochures on cancer awareness were distributed. The aim of the campaign, Yashoda Group executive director G.S. Rao, said was to help detect early cancer and heart diseases in a simple and affordable way. "Every year, more than seven million people die of cancer. One out of every fourth cancer patient in the world is an Indian," he pointed out. Yashoda Cancer Institute director Babaiah, senior oncologists — Ravindra Vottery, Pratap Reddy and Lingaiah — were present.
