KOCHI: An alleged attempt to dump waste on the National Highway near Chakkaraparambu and Deputy Mayor C.K. Manisankar's bid to prevent it culminated in a police complaint against him. Ronson Sebastian, manager with a private sector bank, on Sunday filed a complaint in the Palarivattom police station charging the Deputy Mayor of throwing waste into his car. According to Mr. Sebastian, he dumped waste at a site from where lorries were removing garbage, as there was no system for waste disposal at Anchumuri where he was residing. Mr. Manisankar who saw this asked him to take back the waste. However, Mr. Manisankar said he prevented Mr. Sebastian from dumping waste as it was banned. Those found littering and dumping waste can be fined Rs.2,000.
