Lokayukta police arrest two on bribery charge

BANGALORE: The Mandya Lokayukta police arrested S.P. Narayanan, Assistant Engineer of Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Company Ltd., on the charge of accepting bribe of Rs. 5,000.

According to Lokayukta police, Narayan had demanded the amount from E. Krishna of Panadavapura taluk for sending a report on the latter's demand for sanction of extra power supply for irrigation. Narayan reportedly asked Krishna to give the money to linesman Selvam, the police said.

The Lokayukta police arrested Selvam and Narayan. A case has been registered against the two under the provision of Prevention of Corruption Act.
