Shooting case victim yet to reveal details

Bangalore: The city police are yet to make headway in their investigation of a case in which a 30-year-old woman lost sight in her right eye after she was shot at with a countrymade gun in Peenya police station limits on Thursday.

Two unidentified men shot at Rajeshwari, wife of a garment worker, while she was answering their queries regarding Kannan Naidu, owner of the house where she is staying.

The two men opened fired and escaped on a motorcycle from MEI Layout on Tumkur Road.

The victim is yet to give further details to the police.

"We have questioned some people related to Kannan Naidu who owns a textile dyeing factory. We are collecting information from those related to Rajeshwari too," a senior police officer said. The police are also looking into whether Kannan faced a threat to his life.

It would take time to identify the culprits, the officer said. The police have received the ballistic report prepared by the Forensic experts.

Injured

A vegetable seller was injured in a brawl at a bar in Hanumantanagar on Sunday.

According to the police, the victim Ravi (35), had an argument with four autorickshaw drivers at a bar. They overpowered Ravi and assaulted him. Ravi who suffered injuries on his body and head was admitted to a hospital in the vicinity.

Chain snatched

Two motorcycle-borne men robbed a woman of a gold chain in Basaveshwaranagar in HAL police station limits on Saturday. The chain worth Rs. 50,000 was snatched when Lalitha was returning from a temple.

Body found

The body of a man aged around 25 was found in a lake in Palace Grounds on Sunday. The police said that the body bore no injuries. The post-mortem report was awaited, they said..
