CBI may seek transfer of Noida killings case

Staff Reporter

Police assure adequate security in the court premises

Moninder Singh

NEW DELHI: With only four days left for the custody of the accused in the Nithari killings, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in coordination with the Ghaziabad police is chalking out the security arrangement in the court premises to prevent any further attacks on the duo.

The attack on Moninder Singh and Surender Koli, while they were being taken away from the Ghaziabad special court premises on January 25, raised serious doubts over security provided by the local police.

Speculations were rife that the CBI may seek transfer of the case out of Ghaziabad.

However, it is learnt that the Ghaziabad police have assured the agency that adequate security would be provided to the accused when they are produced in the court after their custody ends on February 8.

The CBI is expecting some of the reports on evidence sent to various forensic science laboratories for examination this week.
