BHUBANESWAR: The Orissa Primary Education Programme Authority (OPEPA) has bagged National Bronze Icon for developing best government website at the two-day national e-governance conference held at Bhopal recently. The website, www.opepa.in, which is the official website of OPEPA, is maintained by Orissa Computer Application Centre (OCAC). The website is funded under the project e-sishu, which has three subprojects such as Child Tracking System, School Information System and Personal Information System. The State was also awarded Fifth India Technical Excellence Award for application of IT in administration (e-Governance) for the year 2006. The website gives detailed information on the achievement under all the three sub-projects and a simple software to track children and schools. The OPEPA has posted all its reports and also put official memoranda as well as tenders in the websites. It has also suggested some relevant interesting blogs on education.
