Magazine jubilee celebrated

Need to simplify language stressed

BHUBANESWAR: The first anniversary of Oriya fortnightly `Samadrusti' was celebrated at simple function at Lohia Academy here on Sunday.

To mark the occasion, former Lok Sabha Speaker and noted socialist leader Rabi Ray released the 25 th issue of the magazine.

Prasanna Mishra, editor of `Gana Istahar', a leading weekly newspaper of western Orissa, was presented with the first Samadrusti award for his effort for bringing people's issue to the front. A cartoon exhibition was also organised on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ray exhorted Samadrusti editorial team to simplify the language to communicate its message to masses.

Among others Samadrusti editor Sudhir Patnaik, Birendra Nayak and G. Narayan were present at the function.
