BANGALORE: The tiny-tots of St. Ann's High School and Venus International School performed at Rhyme Time programme held at the Ambedkar Bhavan. The numbers not only introduced the young ones to new words but also to new tunes. It was a learning process for them outside their classroom and it instilled in them the sense of team spirit. The rhymes spoke of the beauty of nature and kindled in them appreciation of adventure and enterprise. The programme began with "Brahmanjali", a welcome dance presented by students of Standard III. The rhymes were in Kannada, English and Hindi. Among the items were the story of a girl who befriends animals one with the message to keep fit and another capturing the spirit of discipline of ants. Actors Shruthi Mahender and S. Mohan added glitter to the programme. Playback singer Kusuma K.M., and danseuse Vyjayanthi Kashi were the other chief guests. T. Balakrishna, chairman of the group, recalled the support and encouragement of teachers and parents for the growth of the institution. He said the group was building a medical college at Nelamangala at a cost of Rs. 268 crore. The graduation ceremony was held in the evening.

MLA A. Krishnappa was the chief guest on the first day while the former Lokayukta and retired Supreme Judge, N. Venkatachala, presided over the function the next day. The retired judge told the students to achieve success through hard work and dedication. He told the teachers and parents to nurture the talent of children and allow them to pursue a career of their own. The guests gave away prizes to meritorious students. T. Venugopal, chairman of the institution, presented the school report. Principal Vijayalakshmi welcomed the gathering and introduced the guests.
Suvarna Karnataka
The programme depicted the rich cultural heritage and achievements of the State. Children dressed as various eminent personalities received applause from the large gathering of parents. The blessings of Nadadevi Bhuvaneshwari were invoked through a dance. Teachers and meritorious students were felicitated on the occasion.
