Bio-diesel seed price hiked

HYDERABAD: The Government has enhanced the minimum support price (MSP) for purchase of bio-diesel seed to Rs.10 per kg from Rs. 6.

Rain-Shadow Area Development Minister M. Mareppa on Monday said the Government would itself procure bio-diesel seed if the stocks were left with farmers.

The MSP for jatropa, however, was kept at Rs. 6 per kg. Speaking to reporters after a review meet, he said the procurement of bio-diesel seed would be doubled by 2011.
