Protest against treaty

NEW DELHI: Jammu and Kashmir Bachao Andolan activists on Monday staged a dharna at Jantar Mantar here on Monday to register their protest against the Indus Water Treaty 1960 which, according to them, is prohibiting their State from realising its potential to generate 25,000 MW of power. The activists demanded transfer of all Central projects to Jammu and Kashmir as compensation in lieu of the losses on account of the Indus Water treaty.
