Three men take away Rs. 90,000

BANGALORE: Three men armed with choppers took away Rs. 90,000 in cash from a petrol bunk on National Highway 4 in Nelamangala police station limits in Bangalore Rural district in the early hours of Monday.

The police said the robbery took place around 12.45 a.m. at the petroleum outlet owned by Samiullah near Chikkabidarakallu village on the highway.

The three, who came on a motorcycle on the pretext of buying petrol, threatened four employees of the outlet with choppers and tied them up before fleeing with the money from the cash box. On a complaint by cashier Nagaraj, the Nelamangala police have registered a case.

Murdered

A 65-year-old man injured in a drunken brawl on Saturday died in hospital on Sunday.

The police, who gave his name as Honnunathan, a labourer and a resident of Vijayanagar in Whitefield, said a labourer, Nathan, had hit Honnunathan on the head with a boulder after the two had liquor at a wine shop.

The Whitefield police have registered a case of murder and are on the lookout for Nathan.

Suicide

Akram Pasha (45), a businessman who suffered financial losses, committed suicide by consuming poison at his home in Palace Guttahalli on Sunday.

The Vyalikaval police have registered a case.
