Telephone booths to be set up on NH

KOZHIKODE: The Calicut Beach Rotary Club will set up emergency telephone booths on the National Highway stretch here.

The booths on the 18-km stretch would be placed every 2 km, and the service will be free.

The facility is expected to be of use to those involved in accidents on the NH stretch.

A number of accident deaths reportedly occurred because of delay in medical care provided to the victims.

The booths are being set up with assistance of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited. Rotary District Governor Babu Joseph will inaugurate the facility on February 7.
